Should the President Have Boundaries?

The agency of the president to affect major U. S. policies… What debate that would be… Oh Wait it is! Many believe that the president should not have power to influence major U. S. policies yet some do. I think the president should not have the power to influence policies of that scale.

One reason that the president should be restricted is because people who posses a great amount of power will get carried away. It has been seen through history, leaders such as Louis XVI, Adolph Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and Ivan the Terrible, people with too much power will abuse it. When I say abuse, I mean cruel and usual punishments. The people whom I mentioned above are people who have been leaders for a country but are much more known for their cruel and tyrannical leaderships.

Yet as the face for a certain country, the president must posses some power. I strongly advocate that whatever policy the president implicates, it would need to be approved by another body. For example, if the president were to implement a policy that would affect U. S. and its allies or neighboring countries, it should have to be approved by some other body of power such as congress. This is one reason of why I like the separation of powers so much. It restricts the amount of power that the president has. It doesn’t allow the president to get carried away
